In partnership with Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center and Mourakiboun, the Arab Network for Democratic Elections ANDE organized the presidential elections observation mission held in Tunisia on September 15, 2019.

During the observation mission, which lasted from September 12 until September 16 2019, members of the network have organized a number of meetings with supervisory commissions such as the Independent High Authority for Elections “ISIE” and the High authority for Audiovisual Communication “HAICA”. Added to that, they conducted interviews with campaign managers of a number of candidates.

During the polling day on September,15th 2019, the Arab Network team have observed the elections by visiting polling stations in the governorates of Zaghouane, Siliana, Beja, all districts of Tunis, the capital, Nabeul (1 and 2) and Sousse. ANDE’s team has been divided into three groups; they have conducted field visits in different electoral districts. The mission was conducted in cooperation with Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center’s team and Mourakiboun regional coordinators.

Furthermore, the network has prepared a report on the presidential elections observation mission, which will be presented during a press conference that will take place after the completion of the elections process in Tunisia.

The Arab Network for Democratic Elections represents a group of Arab NGOs (including Kawakibi Center) aiming at improving the electoral process, promoting transparency, democratic values and human rights in the Arab countries. The Network has conducted many observation elections missions in a number of countries in the Arab world (including Tunisia since 2011).
